Embracing the Magic: the journey beyond resolutions!

As we embrace the second day of a new year, I find myself reflecting on the numerous times I've started this day feeling like a failure for not sticking to the resolutions I made just the day before. I used to believe that if I couldn't keep promises made to myself just 24 hours earlier, it meant the problem was within me, making me feel hopeless and uncertain about the path ahead.

Ironically, when we seek help from professionals like therapists, doctors, or coaches, we often innocently believe they possess a magical key to unlock the door that has kept us trapped. However, the truth is that while they can help open the door, it's still up to us to take the steps across the threshold. No matter how many magic wands are waved, the ultimate solution lies within us, and the true magic of opening that door is the opportunity it gives us to live our lives. By stepping through, we find a space to explore, a place to uncover what has held us back, and a home where we can safely process the emotional burdens we've carried for so long.

If you've been following my blogs, you already know my views on setting New Year resolutions. Does that mean you have to agree with me? No! However, I want you to understand that if you set them and find yourself feeling like a failure, take a moment to ask yourself if that means you have to give up.

If you are still stuck in that deep abyss, today is the day to begin looking for the way out. Find the person that holds your magical key and entrust your fear into their hands as they open that door to peace. They may not do the hard work for you - and to be honest, you don’t want to miss out on that journey any way - but they will provide a source of strength and support as you discover the gifts you’d buried deep inside for so long.

Today, on this second day of 2025, there’s only one resolution that needs to be upheld; yes, the only requirement for this year is to show up for yourself and embrace the priceless value you bring to this world. And if you can’t do that just yet, that’s ok, for somewhere out there is someone ready to hold onto that truth until you can believe it for yourself!

Are you ready to grab that hand that’s reaching out? Are you ready to jump off that ledge? Well now is that moment to seize the opportunity! Dig out that number, make the call, and allow that magical key fulfill the purpose it was meant to have. Here’s to the open door and the journey ahead - you’ve got this!
