No buts allowed!!!

If you’ve followed along for a while, or maybe even read a few of my books, you may have noticed that I tend to use the word ‘AND’ a lot!! You see, not only is it a word that can join two sentences together so they truly flow, it also has the ability to share your thoughts in an upbeat, positive way - even if the real message is requiring them to make a change.

Think about it! Even if the initial words are kind, as soon as you say “but”, you know that something negative is about to follow. For example, “I really appreciate the help you gave me BUT maybe next time you could do that every day”; notice how that simple word negates the initial appreciation! Now take that same sentence with the word ‘AND’: “I really appreciate the help you gave me AND maybe next time you could work with me to do that every day”. Amazing the difference it makes, right?

So, aside from the initial snickers, I encourage you to embrace this mantra of “no buts allowed” and see for yourself the brightness it creates.
